Products & Quality
6 questionsAre Mercia Research peptides supplied for human or animal use?
No. Every product listed on this site is supplied strictly for in-vitro laboratory research and analytical reference use by qualified personnel. Mercia Research peptides are not pharmaceuticals, are not licensed for therapeutic use, and must not be administered to humans or animals. Any other use falls outside the terms under which the products are supplied.
What purity standard do you target, and how is it verified?
Every lot is tested for purity by HPLC and confirmed for identity by mass spectrometry. Our standard target is ≥99% peptide purity (with a few cosmetic and antioxidant compounds released at ≥98%). We do not release any batch that fails an assay, and the actual measured purity for the lot you receive is detailed on the third-party tested Certificate of Analysis available on our website.
Do you include a Certificate of Analysis (CoA)?
Yes. Every batch is third-party tested and lot-matched to the CoAs available on our website. The Certificate of Analysis summarising HPLC purity, mass spectrometry identity, lot number, manufacturing date, and recommended storage conditions. The lot printed on the cartridge matches the lot on the CoA — full provenance, no guesswork.
Are your products tested for bacterial endotoxin?
Yes. All research peptides are released against a Limulus amebocyte lysate (LAL) endotoxin specification appropriate for in-vitro and pre-clinical research handling. Endotoxin results for the relevant lot are summarised on request alongside the CoA.
Where are the peptides manufactured?
Our compounds are produced by UK-based contract manufacturers using audited solid-phase peptide synthesis (SPPS) processes operating to a documented quality system. Final release testing — purity, identity, endotoxin where applicable — is performed in the UK before any product is offered for sale.
What formats do your products come in?
Mercia Research supplies research materials in both liquid peptide solution and lyophilised peptide formats, depending on the compound. Liquid peptide solutions are provided in sealed 3 mL research cartridges, while selected compounds may be supplied as lyophilised powder in laboratory vials. All materials are prepared under controlled manufacturing and quality-control procedures. Batch-specific analytical documentation, including a lot-matched Certificate of Analysis (CoA), is provided to support identity, purity, and traceability requirements.

Is there a minimum order value?
No. You can order a single cartridge if that is what you need. There is no minimum order value.
Are prices in GBP?
Yes. All product prices, shipping and totals on Mercia Research are quoted in pounds sterling (GBP, £). Your bank statement will reflect the same GBP amount.
Do you offer a discount for institutional or volume orders?

Shipping & Customs
7 questionsWhere do you ship from?
All orders ship from our UK fulfilment partner.
How much is shipping?
Shipping is £15.00 within the UK. Orders over £300 ship free. International rates are calculated at checkout and depend on destination and carrier.
How long does delivery take?
Orders placed Monday to Thursday are typically dispatched the next business day via Royal Mail Tracked 24. Orders placed on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday are dispatched from Monday to help maintain appropriate temperature controlled shipping conditions during transit. Most UK mainland orders are delivered within 1–2 business days following dispatch. Delivery times for international orders typically range from 2–5 business days, depending on destination, customs processing, and local carrier performance. Order status and tracking information can be viewed at any time via the Order Tracking page.
How are orders packaged?
All orders are dispatched in plain outer packaging with just delivery address and the carrier label. Products requiring refrigerated storage are dispatched in validated temperature-controlled packaging designed to maintain recommended transit conditions and support product stability and quality during delivery.
Do you ship internationally?
We ship to most jurisdictions where the import of research-grade peptide reference compounds is permitted by local law. We do not ship to countries where these compounds are restricted. It remains the customer's responsibility to ensure the compound is legal to import for research use at the destination.
What happens if my international order is stopped by customs?
In the rare event that an international shipment is refused entry or seized by customs, we will issue you a full refund. Please contact us at orders@merciaresearch.com with your order reference and we will resolve it promptly.
Are import duties / VAT included?
UK orders include UK VAT in the displayed price. International orders are shipped DDU — any import duties, taxes or clearance fees levied at the destination are the recipient's responsibility and are not included in our shipping charge.
Returns & Refunds
4 questionsCan I return a product if I change my mind?
Due to the temperature-sensitive nature of our research materials and the requirement to maintain controlled conditions, products cannot normally be returned once dispatched. If you wish to cancel an order, please contact us as soon as possible. Orders may be cancelled prior to dispatch and a full refund will be issued. Where products are received damaged, defective, incorrectly supplied, or not in accordance with the order confirmation, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery and we will investigate the matter promptly. Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights under applicable UK consumer protection legislation.
What if my order arrives damaged?
Photograph the parcel and any visible damage on receipt and email us at orders@merciaresearch.com within 48 hours. If a cartridge is compromised, we will replace it free of charge or issue a full refund for the affected line including shipping.
What if my order fails my own QC on receipt?
We stand behind every lot. If your independent analytical work shows the lot does not meet the specification stated on the Certificate of Analysis, send us your analytical data at orders@merciaresearch.com and we will investigate, replace the lot, or refund — depending on the outcome.
How are refunds processed?
Refunds are issued back to the original payment method within 5 business days of approval. Shipping is non-refundable unless the issue is on our side (damaged shipment, lot recall, or shipping error).
Storage & Handling
4 questionsHow should I store liquid peptide cartridges?
Store cartridges at 2–8°C (standard refrigerator temperature) immediately upon delivery. Keep away from direct light and do not freeze. When stored correctly, cartridges remain stable up to 12 months from the date of manufacture unopened.
Do I need to reconstitute the peptides?
No. All Mercia Research liquid peptide cartridges are supplied as pre-mixed liquid solutions — no reconstitution is required. The cartridge is ready to load upon delivery.
Can I freeze the cartridges?
No. Do not freeze the liquid peptide cartridges as this may compromise the stability and effectiveness of the peptide solution. Keep refrigerated at 2–8°C at all times.
How long is the solution stable once in use?
Once in use, cartridges should be stored correctly at 2–8°C and protected from direct light. The shelf life from manufacture is up to 12 months — the exact date appears on your CoA.
Research Compliance & Legal
6 questionsIs it legal to buy peptides in the UK?
Yes — straightforwardly and unambiguously yes. Research peptides are legal to purchase, possess and import in the UK for research purposes only. Our products are labelled for research use only, which is the standard regulatory framework under which research compounds are supplied in the UK. Buying from a UK-registered company means your purchase is made entirely within UK law with no import complications for domestic orders.
Who can buy from Mercia Research?
Customers must be qualified researchers, laboratory professionals, or institutional buyers aged 18 or over who can confirm the products will be used solely for in-vitro research, analytical reference, or non-human pre-clinical applications. By placing an order you certify these conditions.
Do you give dosing or medical advice?
No. Mercia Research is a supplier of laboratory reference compounds. Our team does not, and cannot, provide dosing guidance, treatment recommendations, or any form of medical advice. Questions about clinical effect, side-effects, or therapeutic use should be directed to a registered medical professional.
Do you publish material-safety datasheets (MSDS / SDS)?
SDS availability is currently being confirmed with our manufacturer. Please email info@merciaresearch.com if you require an SDS for site safety documentation.
What if my institution requires an additional compliance form?
We are happy to complete reasonable supplier-verification or material-handling forms required by university procurement or institutional safety teams. Email the form to info@merciaresearch.com with your order reference and we will return it within 2 business days.
What happens in the event of a lot recall?
In the unlikely event we identify a quality concern with a lot already shipped, we will contact every customer who received that lot directly by email, withdraw remaining stock from sale, and replace or refund the affected cartridges at our cost. Lot traceability is built into every order.
